Maroubra – Secluded Gem

The contemporary design style is evident throughout this family home. The brief was to capture this in the family’s garden and to accommodate for their love for swimming. At our first meeting, it was apparent that we were working with clients who were totally invested in the process and the outcome.

With the floating pool, dedicated dining space and soft landscaping with a sophisticated plant palette, the garden epitomizes modern outdoor living.

The pool, with an integrated spa, is undoubtedly the centrepoint of the design and the favourite spot of the whole family. Floating concrete steps lead up to the pool. Where freeform stone cladding as a backdrop to the pool adds extra character and softens the transition to the plantings behind. The pause space at the end of the pool features timber-look porcelain tiles and a pergola including downlights for those late-night swims.

Designed to invite family and friends over, the Growing Rooms design team choose a modern equivalent to natural stone floors and custom-built bench seating for the entertainment area.

An established hedge surrounds this hidden gem in one of Sydney’s beachside suburbs with all components working in harmony – from the natural stone floors, vertical timber walls, and a selected mix of native and exotic plants.
