Artisans in the Gardens 15.-23. October 2016

Artisans in the Gardens is an exciting and diverse range of artworks inspired by nature in all its forms. Don’t miss this year’s exhibition!

A celebration of the natural world, Artisans in the Gardens brings together an extraordinary range of artwork, from ceramics produced by a 3D printer, to furniture created using old world techniques. The exhibition showcases some of Australia’s best established and emerging artists and craftspeople with over 2,500 artworks including sculpture, ceramics, hand blown glass, jewellery and textiles, plus so much more.

Curator Lucette Moore and her team have been especially on the lookout for something eye-catching and new, and have also selected many works with an ethical message or recycled element. “I can’t think of an exhibition that offers such a diverse range,” said Moore.

Artisans in the Gardens is an annual showcase – now in it’s 16th year – of some of the best craft in the nation. The pieces are thought provoking, awe inspiring, functional and beautiful pieces of art. The artistic inspiration for the works draws on the intrinsic beauty of nature as well as current environmental issues and sustainability. All items in the exhibtion are for sale over the 9 day evemt, with proceeds going to the artists and to assisting Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens, to continue supporting horticulture, conservation, scientific research and educations programs within your Botanic Gardens.
